During May 2018, our first steps with After Effects led us to the creation of a short video to test our skills. The set theme was “prospective technologies”. We decided to set our story in a retro-futuristic world with strong 1980's inspirations.
This is how the Runover Dimension project was born.
We collected numerous iconic items from the 1980’s in order to create a full detailed and immersive set-up. In the ideal filming place, a bedroom untouched since this period, still covered with kitsch wallpapers.
Using neons and lava-lamps, we created an aesthetic light which gives a strong identity to our images.
As always, we chose to go ahead of the initial request for the beginners we were, by implementing 3D to our scenes. I modelized an imaginary 3D augmented reality headset inspired by the Sega Lock-on, which then has been used as the retro-futuristic hologram for our scene.
